Gombe Police Commissioner Receives State Coordinator Of NYSC

The Gombe State Commissioner of Police, CP Oqua Etim, received on Tuesday the management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Gombe branch, led by its Coordinator, Mrs. Ada Imoni, at the Police Command headquarters in Gombe.

According to a press release on Tuesday, January 25, 2023, signed by the Gombe State Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Mu’azu Abubakar, the CP was congratulated by Mrs. Ada Imoni on his appointment as the 21st Commissioner of Police. She also thanked the CP for sending policemen and officers to the state NYSC camp.

Mrs. Ada Imoni applauded the head of police at the orientation camp for representing the Nigerian Police well and discharging their duties with a high level of professionalism.

In his response, CP Oqua Etim said NYSC is not a new scheme to him because he served as head of security at the Ibadan NYSC orientation camp when he was a young officer.

“As for the Youth Corp members, under my watch, we are concerned about their welfare.” Parents should be able to sleep with their eyes closed while their children are at the camp, he said.

The CP reassured her of his commitment to providing all the necessary support to the commission and promised to visit the camp before the end of the badge program, he added.
