Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State and Chairman North Central Governor’s Forum, who is also a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) representing North Central has held a meeting with State Caretaker Chairmen of the Party in the Zone.
The meeting which took place in Abuja, was aimed at fostering unity among Party members in the Zone and plan towards a successful Congresses in the North Central part of the country.
The meeting also focused on some key issues of the Party as they affects the zone to include how to strengthen Internal democracy in the Party, complaints arising from the FCT Area Councils Primary Elections, which the meeting agreed to resolve the problems amicably.
Other matters discussed at the meeting were the lingering issues affecting Kwara and Plateau State Chapters of the Party.
While Governor Sani Bello gave an update on his intervention in the Plateau State Chapter, and that he is hopeful for a lasting solution soon, the Governor also identified setting up of a Party based Zonal committee to intervene as part of steps towards resolving the problems.
The meeting equally identified and affirmed ways to achieve harmony and optimal operation of the Party in Benue State.
Membership registration and revalidation exercise of the Party in the zone was appraised with only Kwara State Chapter having issues and that efforts are being made to address them.
