Niger State Governor and Chairman North Central Governors Forum, Abubakar Sani Bello has sympathized with the family of Sheikh Ahmed Lemu over the demise of the renowned Minna-based Islamic Scholar.
In a condolence message, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello described Sheikh Ahmed Lemu as a renowned Islamic Scholar, intellectual, Author and Educationist who served in the field of education for more than half a century.
The Governor said the deceased, the first Grand Khadi in the State, lived an accomplished life having made significant contributions to nation building especially in the areas of security, reconciliation, dialogue, Islamic jurisprudence and advancement of Islamic education as well as his deep involvement in Islamic humanitarian activities among others.
He prayed Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Alannah Firdausi as well as his family the fortitude to manage the moment of grief.
Sheikh Ahmed Lemu, an advocate of moderation, justice, open mindedness and a strong supporter of youth development, died in the early hours of Thursday at the age of ninety-one.
He left behind five Children and many grand children
