Gov. Sule Receives Sardauna Exemplary Service Award Over Selfless Service, Transparency

Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has received the Sarduna exemplary award for his selfless service, God- fearing and transparency.

This was contained in a statement by Yakubu Lamai, Director-General, Strategic Communications & Events Management and made available to News Agency of Nigeria in Lafia on Thursday.

The statement said that Sule was represented by his Deputy, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, who received the revered flag of Sarduna for onward transmission to Government House Lafia, where the flag will be domiciled for the next one year.

The statement said that the Chairman of Sir Ahmadu Bello Foundation Board of Trustees, Dr. Babangida Aliyu, the former Governor of Niger State stated that:

“The Sardauna Exemplary Service Award was conferred on Gov. Abdullahi Sule for displaying an upright and exemplary character which made him

“Along with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Gov. Ganduje and Sultan Saad Abubakar to be God-fearing leaders who are generous, sympathetic, selfless and transparent

“The Sir Ahmadu Bello Foundation in pursuing its vision to be the foremost catalyst for the unity, peace and socio-economic development of Northern Nigeria, in the context of one Nigeria.

“Has held its 8th Annual Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial lecture at Coronation Hall of Government House in Kano, where His Excellency Engr Abdullahi A. Sule was conferred with Sarduna Exemplary Service Award, along with Vice President, Prof Yemi Osibanjo, SAN, GCON

“And Gov. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano,” the statement said.

The statement also said that at the memorial lecture, Nasarawa State was selected and granted the hosting rights to organize the 2023 9th Annual Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Lecture.

“To be held in Lafia, where Gov. Sule will champion Sardauna’s values of leadership anchored on personal integrity, peace-building and industrialization of the North.

“In spite of its plural nature in terms of ethnicity and religion, so as to ensure that all segments of the region are secure, educated and have a sustainable means of improving their livelihood in peace, understanding and harmony,” he added

The statement added that the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage was Guest Speaker at the 8th Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Lecture where he presented an encyclopedic paper.

The Emir of Lafia while presenting has called for constitutional roles for traditional rulers as a way to revive the Northern traditional institution.

“So that Emirs and Chiefs can play a stronger role in safeguarding peace and security in our communities,” the Emir said.
