Governor Inuwa Excited As Gombe Clinches 3rd Position In 2022 National Technology And Innovation EXPO

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya is elated with yet another milestone achieved by Gombe State in technology and innovation, as the state’s contingent clinched 3rd position in the just concluded 2022 edition of the National Technology Expo.

According to a press release on Friday, 18th March 2022 signed by the Director-General (Press Affairs) Gombe Government House, Ismaila Uba Misilli, he said that this year’s event, with the theme: ‘Sustaining National Economic Growth through Science Technology and Innovation’, held between 14th and 18th March 2022 at the Eagle Square in Abuja.

Gombe State team at the EXPO showcased many inventions including, Water Stove, Solar AC, and DC Generator, and Automatic Tea Mixer to the admiration of all.

In the States’ category of the competition, Imo, Edo and Gombe emerged 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, beating the remaining states and the FCT.

Governor Inuwa, while reacting to the development, commended the state’s contingent, led by the Commissioner of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Aishatu Umar Maigari for not only showcasing intellectual capabilities, but also converting ideas into products and services that will benefit humanity.

He hailed the inventors and innovators as well as the staff of the Ministry who represented and made Gombe state proud, thereby giving the entire people more to cheer and cherish.

While urging them to maintain the spirit and continue to explore the horizons that drive human progress, Governor Inuwa assured that his administration will continue to invest in science and technology in order to unlock enormous potentials, harness talents and develop indigenous capacities in technology and innovation as well as to promote productivity in the state.

During the occasion, collaborations were initiated with organizations both within and outside the country such as the embassies of Finland and Switzerland, Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi among others on commercialization of the state’s research products, Gombe Goes Green Programme and climate friendly innovations among others.
