Governor Inuwa Hails Appointment Of Dr. Kwairanga As NGX Chairman

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya ( Dan Majen Gombe) has expressed excitement over the appointment of Alhaji (Dr) Umaru Kwairanga ( Sarkin Fulanin Gombe) as the new Chairman of the board of the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group) Plc.

According to a press release on Friday, 7th October 2022 signed by the Director-General (Press Affairs) Gombe Government House, Ismaila Uba Misilli, he said that Governor Inuwa, in a congratulatory message, described Kwairanga as a top-notch stockbroker and experienced investment professional with the pedigree of excellence at the highest levels of the capital market, banking, commerce, and financial services.

He said his appointment is a well-deserved one and a great feat, adding that the government and people of Gombe State are elated with the development.

The Governor described Sarkin Fulani as an illustrious son of Gombe who has remained an excellent role model and a source of inspiration for the younger generation.

He expressed confidence in the ability of the new NGX board Chairman to bring to bear his decades of expertise and experience in corporate governance while piloting the affairs of the leading financial market infrastructure provider, assuring him of the support and solidarity of the government and people of Gombe State.

Dr. Kwairanga

Dr. Kwairanga, who is also the Chairman of the Gombe State Investment and Property Development Company, is a thoroughbred capital market professional with excellent corporate governance pedigree and cognate experience in banking, pensions, manufacturing, and commercial sectors.

He served as a Council Member of the then Nigerian Stock Exchange and as a member of the Board of Directors of NGX Group. He is currently a Council member of the Institute of Directors of Nigeria and an active director of multiple listed and unlisted companies.
