…Urges Nigerians to Remain Resolute in Prayers for Allah’s Intervention in Nation’s Challenges
Earlier today, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya attended the opening ceremony of a Juma’at mosque built by former Governor of Gombe state and Senator representating Gombe central, Dr. Muhammad Danjuma Goje at Tukulma village of Gona Emirate in Akko Local Government area.Â
In a press release on Friday, 30th April, 2021 signed by the Director-General (Press Affairs) Gombe Government House, Ismaila Uba Misilli, he said that speaking at the occasion after the congregational Juma’at prayer, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya urged Nigerians not to despair but to remain resolute in prayers for Allah’s intervention against the current insecurity and other challenges bedeviling the country.
The Governor who stressed that the protection of lives and property of the citizens remains the priority of his administration, called on the people of the state to continue to support Government and security agencies in achieving a crime-free and peaceful state.
“The level of insecurity we are experiencing today in Nigeria, especially in the northern region is unprecedented. I enjoin us all to continue to persevere and remain faithful and prayerful for the country at this trying moment. We need unity of purpose to deal with this monster”.
While congratulating Sen. Danjuma Goje for executing the mosque project and many others across the state, Governor Yahaya urged the benefiting community to properly utilise the place of worship through the daily congregational prayers, recitation of Qur’an and propagation of true teachings of Islam, especially to the young ones.
Senator Muhammadu Danjuma Goje, represented by Alhaji Abubakar Suleiman Ali Man, thanked the Tukulma community for giving him the opportunity to construct the mosque in their locality, which he said was done wholeheartedly to contribute to the growth of Islam and to gain endless reward from Almighty Allah.
He also joined Governor Inuwa Yahaya in calling for prayers for Nigeria and its leadership at all levels to deal with the current challenges of insecurity in the nation.
He called on the community to make good use of the mosque and keep it neat and tidy.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Akko Local Government, Alhaji Usman Abubakar Barambu thanked the Governor for sparing time to grace the opening ceremony of the mosque, which according to him signifies the love the Governor has for the people of the area.Â
In their separate remarks, Emirs of Akko, Alhaji Umar Muhammad Atiku and that of Gona, Alhaji AbdulKadir Abdussalam expressed appreciation to both Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and Senator Danjuma Goje for working in synergy towards bringing developmental projects to the grassroots. The two royal fathers who traced the history of the mosque to over one hundred and forty years ago, said Inuwa Yahaya was the first sitting Governor to attend Juma’at prayer there, describing the honour done to their area as heartwarming and one deserving of reciprocity.Â
While commending the Governor for the numerous projects being undertaken by his administration in their respective domains, the monarchs assured him that they’ll continue to mobilize their people, especially the clerics to offer special prayers for the peace, unity and development of the state and the nation.Â
The District head of Tukulma, Alhaji Umar Mohammed Bashar and the Guest speaker, Mohammed Hamma Adama ( Walin Tukulma) paid glowing tribute to Senator Danjuma Goje for reconstructing the mosque and for his constituency outreach programmes across his senatorial district, praying Almighty Allah to reward him abundantly and build for him a befitting House in Aljannah
The commissioning ceremony was attended by the Speaker, Gombe state House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, SSG, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abubakar Inuwa Kari, Head of service, Alhaji Bappayo Yahaya, Commissioners, Special Advisers, Alhaji Buba Sharif ( Buba Sharu), Mai Tangle, Alhaji Danladi Sunusi Maiyamba, Emirs of Gona and Akko, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdussalam and Alhaji Muhammad Umar Atiku respectively, Senior District Head of Gombe among others.
