Governor Inuwa Yahaya; The Leader Who Does Not Rest On His Oars
By Adamu Abubakar Kumo
Leadership is undoubtedly a tasking job, but for Governor Inuwa Yahaya (Dan Majen Gombe), it’s an opportunity to serve the people.
Since his assumption of office in 2019, Malam Inuwa Yahaya could not rest; he travelled far and near just to make sure that the life of common man in Gombe State has improved.
From BESDA to ARC-P; YESSO to N-SHIP, Dan Maje has subscribed to many developmental projects, the type of which where not known during previous administration(s).
One of the examples of such partnerships which ‘Gombawa’ are benefiting from, is the partnership between Gombe State Government under stewardship of Governor Inuwa Yahaya and the Qatar Charity Organisation.
After signing MoU with the organization in 2019, with a view to providing social services and amenities to the people, the organization has been executing projects in collaboration with Gombe State Government; projects that complement government efforts in human capital development.
Some of the projects undertaken by Qatar Charity Organisation in Gombe State include the ongoing drilling of boreholes in over 140 locations across the state, construction of nearly 50 places of worship, over 1,000 eye surgeries, distribution of over 3,000 eye glasses, other medical services to not less than 5,000 people etc.
Earlier today, the Country Director of the organization, Sheikh Hamdi Elsayed was in Gombe to witness the flagging-off of the Economic Empowerment programme presided over by Governor Inuwa at the Amina Mohammed Skills Acquisition Centre, Gombe targeting especially Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)
The programme covered distribution of 100 sewing machines to women, 30 grinding machines to women, 9 Tricycles to youths, 63 disabled chairs, 200 blind sticks and provision of learning package to 48 pupils.
After the flagging-off ceremony, Governor Inuwa laid the foundation for the construction of Mega Centre that consists of an orphanage, a school, clinic, staff quarters, mosque and shops, the project that will be undertaken by Qatar Charity Organization in collaboration with Gombe State Government.
The name ‘Qatar Charity Organisation’ was new to us before, but with the coming Dan Majen Gombe, we are getting it right. Many opportunities have been unearthed and ‘Gombawa’ are now global citizens.
Thank you Governor Inuwa!
