Ibeju Lekki-Epe Expressway Reconstruction: Group Commend Sanwo-Olu

……Says Governor Babajide Sanwoolu Deserves Continuity

Following the ongoing rehabilitation of Ibeju Lekki-Epe Expressway, Epe Division Forum has commended the Lagos State Government for the quality of work done so far and development of the area.

In a statement issued by the convener of the Group, Comrade Giwa Muritala Omotola-Moore, he said the project, on completion, would further open up the area to more economic activities and make the environment livable. It will bridge the infrastructure gap in the area, improve the livelihoods of the people and play a significant role in alleviating the discomfort commuters encounter on a daily basis.

Giwa made it known that the people of Epe Division are elated and impressed with the governor’s performance because before the intervention of Governor Sanwoolu the road was inaccessible, the experience of residents of the area due to the failure of certain portions of the road has not only been harrowing but frustrating.

“There was agitation upon agitation, most especially during raining season and today, everyone can see a great improvement. We can now ply the road, the reconstruction work has further helped us to reduce the rate at which we visit the mechanic for repairs of our cars. We can now spend less than 15 minutes from Eleko to Epe, we spend hours on the road before. The repair which has greatly helped to eliminate the agony earlier experienced by commuters in the Epe axis has facilitated the ease of movement, business operation and other social engagement”, he said.

While appreciating the State Government for embarking on the reconstruction of the road, the Group expressed satisfaction that the Government is taking into cognisance strategic needs of the people by developing ways to ameliorate the suffering of the citizens and also commend the government plan on banning of Okada in some areas within the state.
