….. Directs Investigations into circumstances of the care of juvenile offenders
The Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has directed investigations into the circumstances of the care of the juvenile offenders while in remand to police custody by the court.
According to the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, he said the IGP, who is currently attending the Interpol General Assembly in Glasgow, has also summoned all Deputy Commissioners of Police, the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), and heads of all police investigation units across the country to a conference and workshop on child-friendly investigation and care of persons in police custody in Nigeria.
The conference and workshop will take place at the Nigeria Police Resources Centre, Jabi, Abuja, on Thursday, 7th November 2024.
