Impeachment Threat: Eze Calls On Tinubu To Protect Democratic Institutions

…Cautions Wike to Desist from Inflammatory Comments, Inciting Rivers Self-Acclaimed Lawmakers Against Governor Fubara
…Expresses Thanks to Rivers State Elders, Traditional Rulers, Stakeholders, and Youths for Teeming up to Retrieve the State from the Evil Claws of Dark Forces.

Erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to prevail on FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike to curtail the excesses of his 27-foot soldiers and former state lawmakers who, despite vacating their seats, are still parading themselves as members of the Rivers State House of Assembly in which guise they foment troubles in a bid to distract the Governor of the State, Siminialayi Fubara.

Reacting to the recent threat of impeachment against the Governor, issued by the congregation of former Lawmakers and Wike’s attack dogs, led by one Martin Amaewhule, Eze said it is necessary at this point that President Tinubu calls Minister Wike to order to save the situation of a perceptible breakdown of democratic institutions by the former lawmakers who are taking orders and prohibitions from the Minister to whom they are directly answerable and who is working at cross-purposes

In a statement made available to the media, Chief Eze said it is weird for the self-acclaimed lawmakers to issue impeachment threats to the Governor when there exists no trace of any verifiable infraction committed by the latter to warrant such an infamous proclamation.

Describing their path as a deliberate invitation to anarchy, fueled by Mr Wike – an arch enemy of the state, the APC Chief hinted that by the express provision of Section 109 of the Nigerian constitution, having deliberately vacated their seats, the former lawmakers have no business whatsoever legislating for the state anymore, stressing that every action taken and all laws and amendments to laws made since their exit from office amount to a nullity and therefore have no force of law and do not deserve the respect and obedience of the people.

Eze commended former Governor, Dr. Peter Odili, for standing his ground in defence of democracy despite the pressure mounted on him by Wike and his emissaries to veer off the path of justice in service of the Minister’s parochial, self-serving interest.

Expressing confidence in the enormous benefit of Dr. Odili’s wealth of experience to the current administration, Eze urged Gov. Fubara to always consult widely on critical matters of state concern to arrive at the best decisions suitable to address each peculiar challenge in his journey to transform the state from the horrible situation it left by the former administration of Wike.

The APC Chief urged Gov. Fubara to remain focused on delivering democratic dividends to Rivers people and pay no heed to the antics of detractors who are hellbent on frustrating his efforts of impacting the people with good governance.

Chief Eze expressed gratitude to Rivers elders, youths, women and stakeholders for their stance against the plot by Wike to conscript the state into personal estate with particular interest in the funds that accrue to the state on a monthly basis from the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) and other revenue sources within the state.
