Armed bandits have launched another attack on Tegina in the Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State on Sunday.
Armed bandits on Sunday abducted many pupils of Salihu Tanko Islamic School in Tegina, a densely populated town in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.
The bandits reportedly seized the police station in the town and went round the town shooting sporadically into the air to scare residents before breaking into a private school where they abducted children attending Islamic lectures.
The school, which consists of nursery and primary schools, also hosts Islamiyya students in the evening and at weekends.
Even as the state government is still receiving security reports on the unfortunate incident, two people were shot in the cause of the attack with one person confirmed dead while the other person is critically injured.
It was reported that the bandits were armed with sophisticated weapons and were shooting sporadically when they entered the community.
The state government has however appealed to the residents to be calm as the security agents were on top of the situation.
