Justice John Tsoho Declares 36th Annual Judges Conference Of The Judges Of The Federal High Court Of Nigeria Open

The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Hon. Justice John Terhemba Tsoho said that the process of appointing new Judges for the Federal High Court of Nigeria has commenced.

Hon. Justice John Terhemba Tsoho made this known on Wednesday, 16th December, 2020 during the opening ceremony of the 36th Annual Judges Conference of the Judges of the Federal High Court of Nigeria

“However, efforts will be made to ensure that there is equitable representation on the bench of the Court, Justice Tsoho said.

He urged the Lordships and staff to put in more efforts to tackle the upsurge that will follow the eventual control of COVID-19, with regards to increase in the number of cases and attendant services.

He also congratulated their Lordships for effectively using the COVID-19 Practice Directions and other directives from the Chief Judge geared towards the efficient and effective administration of Justice during the high times of the Pandemic and the resultant lockdown.

“I encourage your Lordships to always be wary of actions that will put us and indeed, the Court in bad light. We have managed in this new beginning, to arrange interactive discussions in the course of this Conference.  It is my hope that your Lordships will appreciate such arrangement, Justice Tsoho said.

The Chief Judge appreciated President Buhari for his unalloyed support to the Judiciary, the Chief Justice of Nigeria for his inspiring leadership and he also appreciated the National Assembly especially its bi-camera Committees on the Judiciary and Human Rights for their understanding.

Justice John Terhemba Tsoho later unveiled and presented the Federal High Court of Nigeria Law Report 2013 & 2014.
