Kyari In Attendance As President Tinubu Pledges Nigeria’s Support For Reducing Greenhouse Gases
On Day 3 of the ongoing Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC, #COP28 in the UAE, Nigeria’s President, His Excellency Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, assured the USA, China, and the UAE of Nigeria’s readiness to support concrete actions on reducing Methane and Other Non-CO2 Greenhouse Gases.
During a high-level panel session on Methane and Other Non-CO2 Greenhouse Gases, the Nigerian President said, “We are consolidating on gas export and usage domestically. I can assure you that we will be partners in progress to achieve renewable energy,” he said.
Other speakers at the Summit include the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, the UAE Special Envoy for Climate Change, and the President of the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28), His Excellency, Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber; the United States Special Envoy on Climate, John Kerry; and the China Special Envoy for Climate Change, Xie Zhenhua.
Also in attendance at the landmark event were the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., Malam Mele Kyari; the Executive Vice President, Upstream, Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan; and the Special Adviser on Energy to the Nigerian President, Olu Verheijen.
