The announcement of Olumuyiwa Adejobi as the new police Public Relations Officer for Lagos State has elicited joyful reactions for all and sundry. The new Lagos PPRO has over the years being the delight of Journalists and has been one of the faces that brings respect and finesse to the police.
The Osun State born police officer was before his appointment the Personal Assistant to the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Abdulmajid Ali in Department of Operations, Force headquarters, Abuja, who recently retired from the service
He had attended number of courses which include: Superindent of Police Course 22, Police Academy, Wudli,Kano, Police Mobile Force Training, Gwoza Camp, Maiduguri, Citizenship and Leadership Training, Shere Hills, Jos, Conflict handling Styles,University of Ibadan, Public Relations Skills and Styles Force Public Relations, Nigerian Police Force, Abuja, and completing the Development of Nigeria Police Force Media and Communications Strategy, Abuja
The officer also attended leadership training by Pointman Leadership Institute, United States of America (USA), Public Relations Strategies, by USA Embassy Abuja, Public Relations and Effective Policing of Nigeria, Abuja, Mandatory Continuing Professional Development course, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Efficiency Skill for Law Enforcers worldwide by international association of chiefs of police, Philadelphia, United States of America(USA),several conflict management, human rights, community policing, public relations principles etc courses at various stages and areas both within and outside Nigeria

Adejobi had received awards and medals which include: commendation award by National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Anambra state Inspector General of Police commendation certificate, best Police Public Relations Officer in West Africa by Security Watch Africa, Dubai, United Arab Emirate (UAE). best Police Public Relations Officer in Nigeria by Security Watch Africa, Johannesburg South Africa, merit award by Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Ogun State Chapter and best Police Image maker of the year, by Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria(CRAN)
