Mr. Joshua Audu-Gana, the eldest son of the former Minister of Information, Prof. Jerry Gana has defeated the incumbent member, Abdullahi Usman-Gbatamayigi of All Progressive Congress House of Reps candidate for Lavun, Mokwa, and Edati.
Prof Yahaya Tayo-Iyanda, the Returning Officer for Independent National Electoral Commission declared that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Joshua Audu-Gana polled a total of 47,942 to defeat the incumbent APC member who got a total of 40,003
He said, ” I satisfy that I am the returning officer for the 2023 House of Representative election for Lavun, Edati, and Mokwa Federal Constituency held on Saturday, February 25, 2023.
I declared that Joshua Audu-Gana of PDP having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected.
Gana, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to God for making it possible for them to be a living witness of the just-concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections
He said: “I thank our dear electorates, esteemed supporters, and the entire good people of our federal constituency.
“Your trust and belief would yield greater upliftment for our people and our great party”.
The candidate assured of better days ahead for the people of his constituency, adding that he will not disappoint the confidence reposed on me
Gana further promised never to let the people down, saying, “I will strive to be diligent, pious, and patriotic.
“I will also try to attract more federal projects to the Constituency, Niger, and Nigeria”.
