…….. pledges continued support to promote police-community relations
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 7 Command Headquarters, Abuja, AIG Benneth C. Igweh joined by his management team, received the National Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Alh. Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan and his entourage at the Zone 7 Command headquarters in Abuja.
According to a press release on Friday, 13th September 2024 signed by the police public relations officer, zone 7 command headquarters, Abuja, DSP M.B Abdulkadir, said that Alh. Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan, who was accompanied by the Zone 7 PCRC Chairman; Chief Tijani Zubair, the Zone 7 women PCRC head; Mrs. Iyom Okwesili Eze, the Deputy Zonal Secretary; Prince Adewale Olayinka, and the National Consultant; Amb. Austin Yong, congratulated the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, on his well-deserved appointment to head the Zone 7 Headquarters and also commended him for the job well done in the FCT, by reducing crimes to their barest minimum. He added that the PCRC will give its full support to see that the same manifests in Niger State.
The PCRC National Chairman also handed a Congratulatory Letter to the AIG, on behalf of the entire PCRC.
In response, AIG Benneth C. Igweh appreciated the PCRC for honouring him with the award given to him at the 40th-anniversary celebration of PCRC.
He assured the National Chairman of his unwavering commitment to strengthening the already existing collaboration between the PCRC and the Police.
He highlighted the critical importance of sustained cooperation between the Police and the PCRC in improving the police’s image and fostering active community involvement in crime prevention, which is part of the mission and vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
The visit was concluded with a group photograph and an exchange of pleasantries.
