The All Progressives Congress( APC) stakeholders in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, has drummed support for Sen. Umaru Tanko Al- Makura ( APC-Nasarawa South) as the next National Chairman of the party.
Mr Moses Malle, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party in the area announced the stakeholders position during its executive members and stakeholders meeting of the area in Nassarawa Eggon on Thursday.
Malle said that the endorsement of Al-Makura followed his track records of achievements while as a governor under Congress for Progressive Change ( CPC) and APC and now senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The former Overseer of Akun Development Area of the State said that meeting was aimed at discussing way forward on how to move the party forward in the area, the state and the country at large.
“We have resolved that, we are in total support of Sen.Umaru Tanko Al- Makura as the next National Chairman of our great party, APC.
“As we are all aware that Sen.Al-Makura won his election as governor in 2011 under CPC , the only state in the country that produced CPC governor in 2011.
“The senator boosted the activities of the party, he took the party to the greater height and CPC merged with other political parties to form APC in which our President, President Muhammadu Buhari won in 2015.
“If Sen. Al-Makura is given the chance to head the party at the national level, he will take the party to the greater height, hence the need of our endorsement.
Malle also drummed support for Gov. Abdullahi Sule and Sen.Godiya Akwashiki to succeed in the task ahead of them.
“I am also calling on our people to support Hon Mohammed Muluku Aggah, member representing Nassarawa Eggon East constituency at the state legislature and our local government chairman, Hon Idris Danlami to succeed.
“Gov. Abdullahi Sule, Sen. Godiya Akwashiki, Hon Mohammed Muluku Aggah and Hon Idris Danlami are doing well in their various offices toward changing our lives and the lives of others positively.
“Let’s continue to pray and support them to succeed and for us and other people to enjoy more dividends of democracy,” he said.
He also urged the stakeholders of the party to ensure the succeess of the party revalidation and registration exercise in their various wards in the interest of the party and for the overall development of the state.
The chairman also urged the stakeholders to continue to unite, mobilise support for the party and contribute positively to the development of the party in their wards for the overall development of the state and the country at large.
Earlier, Alhaji Shehu Yamusa, Zonal Youth Leader, Nasarawa North moved a motion for the endorsement of Sen. Al- Makura as the next National Chairman of APC and seconded by the Majority leader, Nassarawa Eggon Legislative Council, Hon Bala Agunji
