NEMA South-South on Friday, 09 December 2022 distributed food and nonfood items approved for persons affected by the windstorm disaster in Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency of Rivers State.
The joint assessment team was led by the zonal coordinator Godwin Tharpikor who represented the Director of General NEMA, Mustapha Habib Ahmed at the event. He sympathized with the affected persons while urging them to make judicious use of the items to ameliorate the impact of the disaster.
On their part, the representatives of the beneficiaries Bar. Blessing Amanze and Mr. Ability Nweke expressed gratitude to NEMA and the Federal Government for bringing succour to them when they needed it most and pledged to make maximum use of the items.
Items distributed include: (10kg) each of rice, beans, and maize vegetable Oil tomato paste; seasoning cubes; cement; roofing sheets; nylon mats; bath towel; blankets; mattresses; mosquito nets; children’s wear; guinea brocade; women’s wear; men’s wear; plastic buckets; plastic plates and plastic cups.
