New Year Celebration: Police Assures Residents Of Adequate Security In Benue State

The Benue State Police Command has residents of the state adequate security before, during, and after the New Year celebration.

A statement on Saturday, 30th December 2023 signed by the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Anene Sewuese Catherine, said that the Benue State Commissioner of Police, CP. George Chuku has ordered all Area commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical commanders to beef up security within their areas of responsibility during the New Year celebration. He emphasized that all worship centers as well as event centers must have police presence to ensure a hitch-free celebration.

“Parents and other stakeholders are advised to warn their children and wards to refrain from criminal activities that may disturb the New Year celebration, particularly, hoodlums that may wish to disturb gatherings. The command will arrest and deal with such criminals following the laws.

“While wishing all residents a happy and prosperous New Year, the CP encourages everyone to be law abiding and report every suspicious movement to the police, the statement said.
