The Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Ltd has been recognised as the premier agency to drive the Federal Government’s connectivity initiatives in both rural and urban areas across Nigeria.
According to a press release signed by the NIGCOMSAT Head of Corporate Affairs, Aisha Bantam, said that this accolade was given by Mr. Ifeanyi Akosionu Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, INQ during a courtesy visit by INQ Ltd to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NIGCOMSAT Ltd, Mrs. Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, at the NIGCOMSAT Headquarters in Abuja.
Mr. Akosionu highlighted NIGCOMSAT as the sole entity capable of delivering the Federal Government’s connectivity goals, particularly in rural regions. Whilst identifying that there are several developmental gaps in Nigeria as a nation, he expressed excitement about the potential outcomes of working with NIGCOMSAT as, according to him, both enterprises are motivated to enhance digital connectivity in the remotest parts of our nation and continent.
“I am very proud to embark on this journey with a highly reputable public sector partner under the exemplary leadership of Mrs. Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen,” he stated.
In her response, Mrs. Egerton-Idehen expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership with INQ Nigeria Ltd, emphasising NIGCOMSAT’s capacity to significantly improve connectivity for Nigerian citizens and the broader continent.
She noted that the market is ripe for such collaboration and that the partnership marks a promising beginning.
The MD/CEO reiterated the need for the business partnership to remain focused and committed to achieving the shared goals.
