Chairman, Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN) Niger State Chapter, Dr Usman Mohammad-Saba, has urged youths in the country to embrace poultry farming as a way out of biting poverty and unemployment.
Hon. Saba, a former Niger House of Assembly Member told newsmen in Bida on Thursday that there were a lot of opportunities in the poultry farming business that people could avail themselves with.
The Chairman said that poultry farming is thriving in Nigeria, just as it is profitable and easy to engage in.
According to the former lawmaker, rather than waiting for elusive white collar jobs, the youths can also access a lot of interventions of federal government from president Buhari’s- led administration, as well as the other agencies when they engage in poultry farming.
Dr Saba who is also the Kangiwa Nupe advised youths across the Bida Emirate and Niger state to engage in meaningful ventures like poultry farming, to earn a living.
The Chairman, who frowned at the sudden increase of restiveness and drug abuse among youths in the society, attributed same to loneliness that emanated as a result of unemployment.
He therefore charged every young man and woman to engage in poultry farming with a view to being self-reliant
The chairman lamented that huge funds were lying idle because those who were supposed to access them were ignorant of such opportunities.
He noted,” if Nigerians embrace poultry farming it would ensure the success of the President Buhari’s Federal Government Agricultural policy.”
Saba stated also that, himself and other Executives of the association will go to all nooks and crannies of the state to sensitise the people on the importanve of poultry farming to their well being.
