Nigeria Police Collaborates UNODC To Strengthen NPF Oversight, Accountability

To guarantee that police operations are carried out with transparency, integrity, and respect for human rights, the Nigeria Police has worked with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to strengthen the oversight and accountability procedures.

According to a press release on Wednesday, 8th May 2024 signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said that this is being achieved via a workshop, themed “Projects to strengthen the oversight and accountability mechanisms of the Nigeria Police,” which commenced from the 7th and will run till the 9th of May, 2024, at the Bolton White Hotel, FCT, Abuja. It will bring together Complaint Response Unit (CRU) officers from various commands across the country.

The Inspector General of Police extends his appreciation to the UNODC for its support and collaboration in organizing this important training program. He equally emphasizes that this initiative aligns with the broader goal of creating a Police that upholds the rule of law, safeguards human rights, and enhances public trust and confidence.
