…To Empower 140 Farmers
The National Information Technology Development Agency under the supervision of Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy in collaboration with Ekiti State Government will commence empowerment programme for 140 farmers in Ekiti State through National Adopted Village for Smart Agriculture (NAVSA) tomorrow, Monday, 14 December, 2020.
NAVSA ecosystem is a collection of critical stakeholders, players and community members that create value across the agriculture value-chain to ensure improved productivity and economic growth for agriculture transformation. The platform facilitates the connection of farmers and ecosystem players in a mutually-beneficial manner.
It is designed to support the Federal Government in its drive to create more jobs for the youthful population and attract them into agriculture, improve food productivity, wealth and income of farmers and agric value chain players, and promote access to international food markets.
It is also aimed at building a sustainable digital platform that provides varieties of information for more than half of agriculture ecosystem players in Nigeria in order to enable a highly-productive agribusiness economy.
It will support agriculture sector with digital capabilities capable of attracting about 1 Million graduate talents and creating exciting new and well-paying job opportunities across the agriculture value chain.
