No Kidnapping Evidence In The FCT, Say Police

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has debunked the news published in a national daily that says gunmen hit Abuja, kidnapped FCTA staff, and killed 14 others.

Reacting to the news, the FCT Police Command spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said that after an extensive investigation, including intelligence-led information gathering, the police have found no evidence of such an incident.

Adeh said, “This is further supported by the fact that no victims or families of victims have come forward with any information or evidence of a kidnapping.

“The police have reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety of citizens and urge anyone with any information related to the alleged incident to come forward for necessary action.

Recall that the national daily in its publication alleged that no fewer than 15 persons were kidnapped on Sunday night by gunmen at the 1, 000 Housing Estate along the Pegi community in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
