The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 7 Command Headquarters, Abuja, AIG Adebowale Williams on Tuesday meets with the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Haruna G. Garba his management team, and other tactical commanders within the FCT, comprising; the Police Mobile Force, Police Counter-terrorism Unit etc.
A statement from the Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 7 Command Headquarters, Abuja, DSP M.B Abdulkadir, said that the meeting became a necessity following the directives of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun to bring down the increasing trend of crimes within the FCT and it’s borders.
According to DSP Abdulkadir, issues discussed surrounded strategies to be put in place to curb the prevailing crimes in recent times in the FCT, especially the “One-chance” abduction and Robbery within the city center and the Kidnapping activities in Bwari, Kuje, Gwagwalada, Abaji, etc.
The AIG however urged members of the public to remain calm and not to panic, as there will be a lot of Police presence and activities in the coming days.
