Osun NSCDC Partners ICPC To Tackle Corruption

…… reiterates readiness to share intelligence.

The Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC ) Osun State Command, Dr. Akintayo Adaralewa has assured Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission of the command’s commitment to collaborate in the provision of personnel to support its operation.

This assurance was given, during the visit of NSCDC Commandant, Dr Akintayo Adaralewa to the Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner, in Osun state, Mr Demola Bakare fsi.

According to a press release on Friday, 16th February 2024 signed by the Civil Defence PRO, Osun State Command, ASC Adeleke Kehinde, said that the Commandant commended the efforts of the commission in fighting the menace of corruption which has eaten deep into every sector in the country, saying there is need to join forces together to tackle corrupt practices in all ramifications.

He therefore admonished everyone to live above board and be determined to collaborate with the commission in the fight against corruption noting that concerted efforts of everyone is needed to make Nigeria better.

While responding, the Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner in Osun State, Mr Demola Bakare stressed the need for collaboration between the agencies to stem the tide of corruption in the country, He said one of the challenges of the commission in the state, is that members of the public do not give relevant information that could help eradicate corruption, he however urged the corps to share information and intelligence in their conduct of activities.

Mr Bakare further revealed the willingness of the commission to partner with NSCDC on sensitization programmes for Personnel, while thanking the Commandant for the visit which according to him was an opportunity to know other areas where the two law enforcement agencies can work and assist each other in the fight against corruption.
