Benue State Governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom, was on Friday appointed by the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to head a crack team of proven election winners on the party’s Campaign Council for the forthcoming Local Council Elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The Independent National Election Commission (INEC) had scheduled the FCT Council election for Saturday, February 12, 2022.
The National Organising Secretary of PDP, Hon. Umar M. Bature, in a statement Friday evening, stated that “the Campaign Council would be given Secretariat accommodation by the Directorate of Organization & Mobilization (DOM), while urging all aspirants, members of the Party and its teeming supporters in the FCT to remain focused and continue to work hard to achieve victory in the elections”.
The Campaign Council which has their Excellencies, Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo as Secretary, Nyesom Wike of Rivers and Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto as members, also has President of the 6th and 7th Senate, Senator David Alechenu Mark; immediate past Governor of Benue State, Senator Gabriel Suswam; Board of Trustees (BoT) member, Margaret Icheen, and Benue PDP State Chairman, Sir John Ngbede as members.
According to the statement, Members of the Campaign Council include: Dr. Samuel Ortom, Chairman; Engr. Seyi Makinde, Secretary; while Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, Barr. Chief Nyesom Wike, CON, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Sen. Walid Jibrin shall serve as Members.
Other members of the Council include, Sen. David Mark, Sen. Bukola Saraki, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, Ibrahim Idris, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, Sen. Philip Aduda, Sen. Uche Ekwunife, Prof. Jerry Gana, Hajiya Mrs. Zainab Maina, Sen. Gabriel Suswam, Rt. Hon. Magaret Icheen, Sen. Zainab Kure and Sen. Solomon Ewuga.
Also in the Campaign Council are, Rt. Hon. Theophilus Dakas Shan, Kamaldeen Adeyemi Ajibade, (SAN), Hon. Jiba Y. Micah, Hon. Hassan U. Sokodabo, Sir. Hon. Ngbede John, Hon. Zakka Dogo Sunday Engr. (Dr) Sam Uhuotu, Hon. Babatunde Mohammed, Hon. Francis Orogu, Barr. Tanko Beji, Hon. Chris Hassan, Abdulrahman Mohammed, Hon. Chief Felicia Ebun Owolabi and Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed.
