The Director-General of Peter Obi Campaign Organisation, Dr. Doyin Okupe has said that Peter Obi traveled to Egypt to see the plants installed by Siemens, which doubled the generating capacity of Egypt in 4 years.
According to Okupe, Peter Obi’s trip has been scheduled previously, even before the primaries.
“His mission principally is to see the plants installed by Siemens, which doubled the generating capacity of Egypt in 4yrs. To hold talks directly with the company on what will be feasible for Nigeria and at what cost? Okupe said.
Recalled that Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra and presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), flew out of Nigeria on Tuesday to Egypt.
Obi announced the trip through his official Twitter handle.
He said the three-day visit to the north-eastern African country is to understudy its power, education, planning and finance sectors.
“I just departed for Egypt on a 3-day visit as part of my detailed study of comparable countries to Nigeria,” he wrote.
