…thanks members and Nigerian Golfers for their support during his tenure
The immediate past senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for Delta Central senatorial district, business mogul, and the Captain of Ogunu Golf Club, Mr. Peters Omaruaye on Saturday 27th May 2023 ended his Captaincy of the Club in a grand style.
Speaking during the ceremony to mark the end of a golf tournament in his honour, which was held in Ogunu, Warri, Delta state, Captain Omaruaye thanked members of the club and every volunteer who contributed so much to the betterment of Ogunu Golf Club and its members. He equally said a big thank you to every golfer for all the hard work they put in to make the game better.
He thanked all officials of the club who gave so much support to him. He appreciated the major tasks taken by different individuals for the success of the club.
Other speakers who spoke during the ceremony paid glowing tributes to Captain Peters Omaruaye and thanked God for giving the club somebody with the caliber of Peters Omaruaye and wished that God gives the club the like of Omaruaye as a new Captain.
Speaker after speaker affirmed how much they cherished Omaruaye for the period he served as Captain of Ogunu Golf Club. They urged the incoming Captain to emulate Omaruaye’s style of leadership to enable the club to continue to move forward.
In his closing remarks, Peters Omaruaye appreciatied the Edo State governor, HE, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the Ddo State Depity governor, HE, Phillip Shaibu, his wife, Mrs Frances Omaruaye and the entire Omaruaye family for thrir support.
He equally acknowledged the inputs of Adjarho Mohammed Oyibo to the success of his tenure and the tournament to mark its end.
Omaruaye also recognised the support he got from Mr. Asue Ighodalo, the immediate past Cordinator of the Jamz golf group, Mr. Uyi Akpata, the current Cordinator of the Jamz Golf Group , all members of the Jamz Golf group , Mr. Jimmy Ahmed, NNG Golf Group , Sir Egbert Imomoh, Mr Tony Attah and members of the group ,Omars Royal Company ltd, F&PO foundation, International Distillers ltd , and the exco and members of Ogunu Golf Resort and so many others to numerous to mention.
The end of the Captaincy of Mr. Peters Omaruaye at the Ogunu Golf Club ended with two days of celebration, commissining of a Caddies Hut, cocktail party and Dinner Award Night.
Specifically, the events lined up included a Pre Tournament Cocktail on Friday 26th May, with the first set of tournament players on the same friday .
The Main Tournament took place on Saturday, 27th of May, 2023.
The commissioning of Caddies’ Hut project and other projects executed during the tenure of his outgoing Exco’s tenure and an Award Dinner at Prodeco Restaurant took place on Saturday night, 27th of May.
