Police Arrest Eleven Suspects In Bauchi

Recovers Dangerous Weapons

The Bauchi State Police operatives have arrested Eleven suspects who violated the earlier warning issued by the command on all forms of celebrations and rallies by political party supporters for or against winners/losers of the just concluded Gubernatorial and state assembly election.

A statement on Tuesday from the Bauchi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, said that the tactical teams attached to the command sustained an aggressive stance against miscreants across the state in a bid to curtail the breakdown of law and order following the just concluded gubernatorial and state assembly elections.

The statement read, “Consequently, the crime prevention operations conducted across the state led to the arrest of eleven (11) suspects on the alleged criminal conspiracy, thug and thuggery, and being in possession of a dangerous weapon.

“During the raid, the operatives retrieved thirty (30) assorted dangerous weapons. The following suspects arrested are Uzaifa Abubakar (Damo) aged 18yrs Abdulmalik Hussaini (Biri) aged 18yrs., Abdulmalik Suleiman (Bluetooth) aged 21yrs, Usman Isyaku (Kanzo) aged 20yrs, Naziru Mohammed (Binju) 18yrs all of the Bayan Nitel area, Mubarak Yahaya aged 18yrs of the Doya area, Alyusha’u Sanusi aged 25yrs of Bayan Zannuwa, Ahmad Usman aged 28yrs of Illela, Mubaraq Nasiru aged 16yrs of Railway, Idriss Dauda aged 22yrs of Tsohon Kamfani and, Khalifa Adamu aged 20yrs of the Danjuma Goje area.

“The aforementioned suspects were arrested wielding dangerous weapons, disturbing public peace and order along Kobi Street, Fada roundabout and Danjuma Goje area of Bauchi metropolitan, the statement said.

In a related development, the Commissioner of Police Bauchi State Command CP Aminu Alhassan on Tuesday 21st March 2023 received in audience the Community engagement stakeholders/ward heads in Bauchi metropolitan.

The meeting was prompted following reported Armed robbery and disturbance of public peace in some areas within the Bauchi metropolitan.

The meeting was also to enhance community participation in the fight against crime and criminality in the State.
