Police Arrest Man In Possessing Of An Imitation Firearm, Arraigned And Remanded

Police Operatives serving in the Enugu State Police Command’s Central Police Station (CPS), working with members of the Neighbourhood Watch Group, on March 13, 2024, at about 2:20 p.m., arrested one Ikenna Chiege, aged 28, at New Jerusalem, Bunker Camp 2, Coal Camp, Enugu.

According to a statement on 15th March 2024 signed by the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, said that the team recovered from him a toy pistol concealed in his waist and wielded with intent to rob unsuspecting victims.

Investigations revealled that the suspect and accomplices at large have been on the watchlist of the Police for their involvement in several cases of armed robbery, burglary, and stealing perpetrated in Coal Camp and other parts of Enugu metropolis.

The suspect was accordingly arraigned in the Enugu North Magistrate Court of Enugu State today, March 15, 2024, and remanded in the Correctional Custodial Centre.
