Police Arrest Notorious Handset Snatcher In Nasarawa

…..recover four stolen Phones, a Power Bank/Seventy-one SIM cards from different network providers

The ‘A’ Division of Nasarawa State Police Command, Lafia acting based on a complaint that on Tuesday, 6th February 2024 thieves broke into a house located behind Sabo Garage and carted away three mobile phones and a power bank, arrested one Zahraddeen Ja’afaru of Angwan Jaba, Lafia.

In a statement on Wednesday, 7th February 2024 signed by the Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, said that police operatives attached to the ‘A’ Division carried out a comprehensive investigation which led to the arrest of Zahraddeen Ja’afaru.

The Command spokesperson further said that a search warrant was executed at his residence where four stolen phones and a power bank were recovered.

“Furthermore, seventy-one SIM cards of different network service providers were also recovered as an exhibit.

“The suspect has confessed to being responsible for a series of housebreaking/theft and snatching of handsets from members of the public in Lafia and its environs, DSP Nansel said.

He further reiterated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada has tasked the Divisional Police officer to go after the suspects’ accomplices, arrest them, and charge them to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
