Police Arrest Thugs In Possession Of Dangerous Weapons In Bauchi

Bauchi State Police Command has arrested seven suspected thugs found in possession of dangerous weapons.

The arrest followed the Commissioner of Police’s, CP Aminu Alhassan’s, orders to all Area Commanders, DPOs, and Tactical teams to raid criminal hideouts and maintain the state’s utmost security and tranquility during the Easter celebrations.

According to a press release on Sunday, 9th April 2023 signed by the Bauchi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, he said that on Saturday, 8th April 2023 at about 0930hrs, operatives attached to C’ Divisional Police Headquarters, Bauchi in collaboration with a quasi-security outfit, acted on a credible intelligence report, raided a criminal hideout in an uncompleted building situated at Magaji Quarters, Bauchi.

Rayyanu Mohammed, 25, Mustapha Harisu, 19, Yusuf Ibrahim, 18, Mubarak Lawal, 18, Abubakar Musa, 20, Al-Amin Hussaini, 17, and Hamza Umar were all arrested as suspects as a result of the operation, which had a very high success rate. They were all from the Magaji quarters of Bauchi.

As a result, during the raids, the following various weapons and alcoholic beverages were taken from their possession: two axes, three knives, ten empty cough syrup bottles, two empty rubber solutions, and one wrap of cannabis sativa.

Investigations, according to SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, showed that the suspects detained are members of the renowned thuggery organization “SARA SUKA,” which has recently terrorized the Bauchi metropolis.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Aminu Alhassan, therefore, urged parents and guardians to get acquainted with the activities of their children, as the investigation is in progress after which the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution.
