Enugu State Police Command’s Operatives serving in Trans-Ekulu Division, on April 12, 2024, around 5:30 a.m., swiftly responded to credible information and arrested Obieze Chigozie aged 23, at Damijah Flyover while his cohorts escaped.
According to a press release on Thursday, 18th April 2024 signed by the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, said that the suspect and his accomplices were alleged to have vandalized an electric power transformer in an estate at Damijah Flyover, Trans-Ekulu, Enugu.
Yet-to-be-ascertained lengths and sizes of armoured cables and a big cutting tool the suspect and others at large used in vandalizing the transformer were recovered.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect confessed to having been previously involved in the act of vandalism, with others at large.
He will be arraigned and prosecuted once investigations are concluded.
