The Nasarawa State Police Command has banned all kinds of protests in the state.
A statement on Sunday, 26th March 2023 signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, said that all kinds of protest have been outlawed throughout the state.
The police command said base on an intelligent report on security gathered, the state can no longer support any type of demonstration as the state wants to maintain the current level of peace and prevent the breakdown of law and order.
“Thus, parents and guardians are urged to make sure their kids and wards follow this order because anyone caught breaking it would be detained and charged as such, DSP Nansel said.
Recalled that protests had engulfed the state, with women and youths carrying placards calling on INEC and the State Returning Officer, professor Ishaya Tanko, to restore their “stolen mandate” and wearing half-naked costumes and carrying green leaves.
