An attempt to steal and abduct Moyosore Bright, a 100-level student in the University of Ilorin’s Zoology Department, inside the institution has been thwarted by the Kwara State Police Command.
The Divisional Police Office in charge of Tanke got information that the student had been abducted on January 27 of this year, according to a statement made by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ejire-Adeyemi Toun.
The preliminary investigation, according to the statement, found that on January 26, 2024, at around 2:00 p.m., a female student named Moyosore Bright from the University of Ilorin’s Zoology Department boarded a minibus at the main campus’s school terminus to proceed to her hostel at Tanke.
According to the statement, several kilometres outside of the city of Ilorin, the student unexpectedly regained consciousness in the bush at around seven o’clock that evening.
According to the statement, she was not physically harmed and her cell phone was undamaged.
The statement states that an investigation is being conducted to identify the perpetrators of the incident.
