The Nigeria Police has unveiled its e-CMR e-enforcement patrol vehicle and gadgets ahead of the start of the proposed enforcement of the digitalised Central Motor Registry (e-CMR).
The e-CMR will provide a firsthand database to the Force for curbing vehicular crimes, as dedicated officers can access real-time comprehensive data of every vehicle on their tablets.
In a post on X on Thursday, the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated that “with this equipment, no stress for vehicle owners and policemen on duty.”
“Technology at work. These will be launched when the police are ready for enforcement. We, however, need to embark on massive public education and enlightenment on the importance and features of the e-CMR to Nigerians and our security system.”
The Force PRO had earlier highlighted the effectiveness of the e-CMR in solving vehicle-related crimes as well as removing the need to carry around physical documents.
