President Buhari Commends Engineer Sule For Urging Restraint Over #EndSARS Protests

President Muhammadu Buhari has commended Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, for calling on youths in the state to exercise restraints over the EndSARS protests.

President Buhari made the commendation in his broadcast to the nation, monitored in Lafia, on Friday.

The President specifically thanked state Governors who appealed for calm and restraint following the eruption of violence and destruction of properties by hoodlums that hijacked the #EndSARSr protest.

“I would like to thank those State Governors, traditional and religious leaders who have appealed for calm and restraint,” President Buhari stated.

It will be recalled that, on two occasions, Engineer Sule, have cause to appeal for restraints over the ongoing protests by youths against the activities of the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The Governor earlier this week, warned protesters travelling from other parts of the country, with a view of staging their protest in Karu and Keffi, to stay clear of Nasarawa State, as they will not be welcomed.

Speaking also during the flagging off of a sensitization programme against the spate of kidnapping and rape across the state, on Wednesday, Engineer Sule, appealed to youths in the state to shun the protest, which he said, has taken a new dimension, resulting into the loss of lives, as well as the destruction of properties.
