President Buhari Commissions National Housing Programme, Gombe

President Muhammad Buhari on Thursday, 12th May 2022 commissioned the Gombe State National Housing Project.

The President who was represented by the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Pantami, expressed delight that the long-awaited project had come to fruition.

According to a press release signed by the spokesperson to the Minister of Communications & Digital Economy, Uwa Suleiman, she said that in his keynote address, the Minister disclosed that “the provision of befitting, affordable accommodation for its citizens was one of the promises made by this administration and the commissioning of this project today, is part of the fulfillment of that promise. This is the first phase of the project and phase two is underway”.

He urged the people of the state to take advantage of the affordable rates and the friendly payment plan to become homeowners. Professor Pantami also commended the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing for delivering on the project in good time.

The estate is made up of seventy-six units comprising forty-eight two-bedroom bungalows, twenty-four units of three-bedroom bungalows, and four units of one-bedroom bungalows. It will be recalled that the Gombe State government donated the land for the housing project in 2016.
