Prosperity Cup: Grace Chapel Shines in Five Goal Thriller

….As more teams bow out

Having defeated Ekpetiama community in their first game at the Tombia Centre, Grace Chapel FC proved that their victory was no fluke with a convincing five goals to nil win over One Man Country Community, and also displayed a better performance than their first game played a few days ago at the same center.

Goals from Aaron Solomon, Ebitimi Kalama, and Honest in the first half, saw Grace Chapel lead three-nil at halftime, after which Ebizimor Garando and Tari Kofi, compounded their opponents’ woes by adding two more goals, at the resumption.

One Man Country community’s Goalkeeper happens to be the culprit, as two of his careless errors resulted in the first and last goal, with the latter being so hilarious, after he rushed out to pick up a direct loosed ball, but unfortunately, could not lay his hands on it, as the ball ran past in between his legs into goal.

Grace Chapel took total control of the game, as their lead aided their confidence and skillful display, to the amazement of fans and natives who came out to witness the best of grassroots football.

The first game between Revival Fire Church FC and one of the sociocultural groups, Oduduwa FC, also produced lots of hilarious moments which saw the former, defeat the Yorubas five goals to three in the encounter.

An early 11th-minute goal from Newton Obote gave Coach Kenneth Bobo’s team the lead, while Gediapere Abraham, Leghemo Woyins, Yakubu Alex, and Akpos Richard, increased the tally for the young lads, while Oduduwa’s Bayou Adetula, Favour Egbo and Peremobowei, found the back of the net, which did no threat to the eventual winners.

In other centers, Oxbow Lake FC lost one-two to Agbura FC in the first game at BDGS, Church of God Mission played a one-all draw against Swali Market FC, with the shoot-out ending 4-3 in favor of Church of God, while at Opolo Centre, Transformation Fullness lost one-three to Bayelsa Palm in the first game, with Blossom Jnr FC losing three-nil to NIIT FC.
