Prosperity Cup: Talents Are Bound In Bayelsa – Stakeholders

Key stakeholders in Bayelsa State says talents abound in the state following a scintillating display of teams at the semi-final of the 2022 Bayelsa Governor’s cup, Tagged “Prosperity cup”.

Speaking after the Semi-final matches, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Daniel Alabrah said that the standard of the competition is very high, and that the quality of players that he has seen can represent the state and the country anywhere.

Mr Daniel Alabrah who also gave kudos to the organizers of the competition added that talents arlbound in the state, that the state only need to be properly organized in terms of sports, adding that Nigeria will continue to produce young players if there are grassroots competitions like the prosperity cup.

Also the Zonal Vice President Youth Sports Federation Of Nigeria (YSFON), Mr Kali Gwegwe said that the competition is better when compared to the previous editions.

He noted that since the commencement of competition, in every game he has seen new talents who are good to play for the state owned team, Bayelsa United FC.

Meanwhile in the semi-final matches played on Friday at the Samson Siasia Stadium Yenagoa, EGM FC defeated Agbere FC 3-0 to progress to the finals while in the second Semi-final of the day, Odioma FC of Brass beat Ayama Ogbia 3-1 to advance to the finals.

The 2022 prosperity cup finals comes up on Tuesday next week at the Samson Siasia Stadium. EGM FC will take on Odioma FC in the finals while Agbere FC and Ayama Ogbia will face off in the third place match.
