…… Assures readiness for implementation
The Police Service Commission on Wednesday received a team from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and the World Bank for an extended briefing and evaluation of the Government’s new Policy on the assessment of public servants.
A statement on Wednesday, 20th September 2023 signed by the PSC Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, said that the new assessment policy, named the Performance Management System has received the approval of the Federal Government to replace the former assessment technique called APER.
The Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Commission, Dr. Ifeoma Adaora Anyanwutaku who welcomed the team to the Commission assured them that the Commission will be ready for the implementation of the new Policy.
Dr. Anyanwutaku said the Commission will key into the new system and use it effectively to drive the Commission’s workforce.
She commended the visiting team for coming to explain the intentions of the Government on the new appraisal policy and its workability.
Ms Busola Alofe, Consultant on the Project from the World Bank who led the delegation thanked the Commission, an oversight agency on the Police for its hard work to ensure that Nigeria is still one in the face of global security threats.
Alofe said the team was in the Commission to assist it understand the dynamics of the new Policy and ensure it meets the deadline.
