Former Head of Service of the Federation , Mr Danladi Kifasi has joined the world community to celebrate today which has been declared by the United Nations a #PublicServiceDay in honour of public servants working on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement he issued in Abuja, Mr Kifasi commended the selfless sacrifice and sense of patriotism of all the people in public services who work in healthcare, social welfare, education, postal delivery, transport, law enforcement, sanitation and more.
” We all owe you as you risk your lives for us all during this pandemic. You are our heroes and the United Nations did well to have set aside today in your honour.
“We are still in the midst of the ravaging coronavirus.The battle still rages. We are hugely indebted to you because your efforts salvage and secure us”,Kifasi noted in the statement.
While commending and drumming support for the Federal Government on the COVID-19 fight, the former Head of Service also urged the citizenry to appreciate the workers by complying with safety protocols.
“We must listen and obey authorities on safety procedures. COVID-19 is real and we must observe protocols as rolled out by the government”, the statement concluded.
