The Local Organising Committee of the Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament, ‘the Prosperity Cup’, has invited the State Executive Council, the State Legislature, Council Chairmen, Sports Stakeholders, and the general public to the official kick-off of the Competition.
According to a press release signed by the Director-General, Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament, Ono K. Akpe he said that the defending champions, Okolobiri Community, now known as Gbarain Selected Stars FC will tackle newcomers, Bayelsa Medical University.
The event will take place on Monday, 2nd of May, 2022 at 10 am at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex.
The Special Guest of Honour is Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State while the Guest of Honor is Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, and the Chief Host, Hon. Daniel Igali, Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development.
According to the statement, all teams are to arrive by 8 am for screening.
