Victim Support Fund: Niger State Government Begins Distribution Of Donated Items

The Niger State Government through its emergency management agency, NSEMA has begun the distribution of donated items by the Victim Support Fund. A Non- Governmental Organisation (NGO), disbursing food and medical supplies to vulnerable groups across Nigeria.

The organization has as its chairman General TY Danjuma, a businessman and former chief of Army staff of the Nigerian Army.

The Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello who was represented by his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Hon. Ibrahim Ebbo while distributing the items expressed appreciation to the Victims Support Fund and Gen. T. Y Danjuma for donating items worth 107 million naira and for reaching out to vulnerable persons in the State through the presentation of the items.

He assured that the items will be distributed to the intended beneficiaries in line with the guidelines set by the donors and admonished the council chairmen who were present to set up committees to make sure that the items are given to the beneficiaries.

Hon. Ibrahim Ebbo listed the specific numbers of items that were donated and those that will be given to each LGAs while stating that these items will go a long way to cushion the effect of the economic downturn due to the pandemic and insecurity that has continued to be a menace. Also present at the distribution was DG of Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Inga, Niger State Algon Chairman led other Niger State Local Government Chairmen to accept their items.

The items presented include bags of rice, beans, and maize, salt, vegetable oil, hand sanitizers, goggles, latex gloves, boots, surgical face mask and VSF branded reusable facemasks.
