Dr. Theophilus Aimiebenomon is a passionate Nigerian who hails from the Ewohimi community of Edo State. He was born and raised in Nigeria and understands the yearnings of every Nigerian.
One thing you cannot take away from Dr Theophilus Aimiebenomon is his patriotism for his country, Nigeria. He has always talked about the dream that he has about Nigeria and how he believes that the country is very vast with natural and human resources, but only needs willing and selfless minds to help harness these resources into productive and meaningful development for its citizens. He believes he has all that it takes to help Nigeria achieve an unprecedented advancement to help the citizenry.
As a medical doctor of over 13 years who has done a lot of his medical practice in Nigeria, he is very much aware of the decay in the Nigerian Health Sector. Also, as a medical practitioner abroad, he understands even more – the need to revamp the health sector in Nigeria, as he believes that the health system is a far cry from the minimum expectation when compared to the health systems of some other countries around the world.
As a patriotic Nigerian, he is very much concerned about the insecurity which has be-devilled Nigeria over the years. He believes that he is capable of leading the country and providing security to its citizens. This he believes should be the primary duty of any executive of a government.
Dr. Theophilus Aimiebenomon does not believe that Nigerians should just do wishful thoughts about how they are tired of having recycling of the same set of leaders without taking the bold step to advance into leadership positions themselves. Nigerians, he believes have been unjustly ruled and it is time to seek justice and get the right things done, rather than lie in wait for injustice to continue to prevail.
He believes that the Nigerian system is weak and needs a total overhauling. Once great systems are built, foundations are raised, and this will only be the beginning of greater things to unfold.
Dr. Theophilus Aimiebenomon seeks the support of every Nigerian to help achieve this great Nigerian dream. Together, we can all win!
EARLY LIFE, EDUCATION, CAREER AND FAMILY
Dr Theophilus Aimiebenomon is a village boy who hails from Ewohimi in Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria. He was born into the family of Hon. David Esabu Aimiebenomon and Mrs Margaret Aimiebenomon, both of blessed memory. He learnt courage from his father and discipline from his mother. His late father, Honourable David Aimiebenomon was one of the founding members and fathers of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He was also a former member of the defunct Edo State House of Assembly under the then Social Democratic Party (SDP) during the reign of former Governor John Odigie Oyegun. The late Hon. D. E Aimiebenomon rose to the position of the Majority Leader of the House before the take-over of power by the Sani Abacha-led military in 1993. Before his gruesome murder in 2008, the late Hon. D. E Aimiebenomon was a loyal member of the PDP who dedicated his life serving his community Ewohimi and Edo state at large. He taught his son, Dr Theophilus Aimiebenomon some of the tenets of Nigerian politics. May his soul find eternal rest.
Dr Theophilus Aimiebenomon had his primary school Education at Auntie Mary Junior School, Ewohimi from 1987 to 1992. He then proceeded to Boys Model Secondary School, Evboneka in 1992 under the tutelage of the late renowned R.E.M Ohiomokhare who helped to model hardwork and the “I can do it” mentality in the young Theophilus. The school was later renamed St Davids Boys Model Secondary School following agitations from leaders of the community where the school is located. Dr Aimiebenomon obtained his Senior secondary certificate in 1997 emerging one of the best graduating students with seven distinctions out of 8 subjects mostly in the Sciences.
In year 2000, he gained admission into Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma to study Medicine. Due to the recurrent industrial actions by the Academic Staff Union of Universities as well as closure of the University for one year by the then State Governor, Dr Aimiebenomon did not graduate from Medical school until 2009. He was in his final year in medical school when his father was gruesomely murdered in cold blood by a man known for his notorious activities in the community. Although this had a significant negative impact in the young man Theophilus, it did not prevent him from passing his final exams few months later.
As a fresh medical graduate, Dr Aimiebenomon completed his one year housemanship/internship at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Irrua, Edo State and went further to devote the early part of his career serving his motherland Nigeria. He served his country through the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at Kuje Area Council Primary Health Center, Abuja. After his meritorious service at the NYSC in 2011, Dr Aimiebenomon was offered a job at Sybron medical centre, Asokoro, Abuja as a Medical Officer where his devotion to his job was not in doubt.
