The Zamfara State Police Command has busted a Terrorists Syndicate terrorizing the State
According to a press release by the Zamfara State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu said the Command also neutralizes one Bandit and arrested six suspects for banditry, kidnapping, and cattle rustling.
He said that the Command operatives also repelled the bandits’ attack, and recovers two AK 47 rifles, 104 rounds of live ammunition, two magazines for AK 47, and a bunch of charms.

REPELLED BANDITS ATTACK AT A COMMUNITY IN GUSAU AND MARU LGAs AND RECOVERY OF TWO (2) AK 47 RIFLES, TWO MAGAZINES, AND 104 ROUND OF LIVE AMMUNITION, BUNCH OF CHARMS
On 1st January 2023, Police Tactical operatives while on confidence-building patrol along Gusau – Magami – Dansadau Road received a distress call about bandits’ planning to block the road and attack commuters and by extension some villages.
The Police operatives mobilized to the locations and engaged the bandits in a serious gun battle. Luckily enough, one of the bandits was neutralized and others were repelled by the superior firepower of the Police operatives, as such they retreated to the forest with possible gunshot wounds. Two AK 47 Rifles, Two Magazines, 104 rounds of live ammunition, and a bunch of charms belonging to the bandits were recovered at the scene.
ARREST OF TWO SUSPECTED BANDITS FOR KIDNAPPING AND CATTLE RUSTLING IN ZAMFARA, KATSINA, AND NIGER STATES
Name of Suspects: Umaru Buba ‘M’ 21 Yrs Old from Baburasa Village in Kainji LGA of Niger State and Babuga Manu ‘M’ 20 Yrs Old of the same address
Police Tactical operatives while on confidence-building patrol/ Stop and Search acted on intelligence information that led to the arrest of the above-mentioned suspects.
In the course of interrogation by the Police, the suspects confessed to being into Kidnapping and Cattle Rustling in Various states such as Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna, Niger, and other States in the North. The suspects further confessed to belonging to the gang of Bello Turji where they took part in the kidnapping of an unspecified number of victims in which millions of Naira were collected as ransom.
ARREST OF A GANG MEMBER OF NOTORIOUS BANDIT KINGPIN HALILU KACHALLA FOR BANDITRY, KIDNAPPING, AND CATTLE RUSTLING
Name of Suspects: Musbahu Aminu’M’ 30 Yrs Old of Yabawa Village in Maradun LGA.
On 1st January 2023 at about 1330hours, Police Tactical operatives while on Confidence building patrol/Stop and Search arrested the above-mentioned suspect
The suspect while undergoing a discreet investigation confessed to being a gang member of Bandit Kingpin Halilu Kachalla who operates in many in Zamfara and other neighboring States. The suspect further confessed to participating in several kidnappings and cattle rustling where millions of Naira were paid by victims’ relations as ransom.
ARREST OF A SUSPECTED BANDIT FOR BANDITRY, KIDNAPPING, CATTLE RUSTLING, AND OTHER HEINOUS CRIME
1. Abu Umaru ‘M’ 25 Yrs Old of Doka Village in Gusau LGA.
Exhibits recovered: One Operational Motorcycle and a sharp knife.
On 2nd January 2023 at about 1215 hours, Police Tactical Operatives deployed along Gusau – Tsafe Road on rigorous patrol arrested the above-mentioned suspect on a motorcycle coming out of the forest.
In the course of the investigation, the suspect confessed to belonging to a gang of Bandits operating in Mada, Wanaka, Yandoto, and Tsafe under their gang Commander Malam Tukur. He also confessed that several times, they blocked Gusau – Tsafe – Yankara Road and abducted an unspecified number of people, and took them to their enclave in which their relations paid ransom before their release. The recent abduction they carried out was on 1st January 2023 at about 1900 hours where they blocked two vehicles along Gusau – Tsafe highway by Yandoto village and kidnapped Nine persons including three (3) women and two (2) children.
ARREST OF A NOTORIOUS BANDIT INFORMANT IN KAURA NAMODA LGA
Name of Suspect: Isah Ayuba ‘M’ 35 Yrs Old of K/Namoda LGA
On 3rd January 2023, Police Tactical Operatives acted on intelligence information that led to the arrest of a notorious bandits informant who gives information to Bandits operating in Kaura Namoda, B/Magaji, Zurmi, and Shinkafi LGAs
In the course of interrogation, the suspect confessed to collaborating with bandits by giving them information on who to kidnap, where to attack, and so on. The suspect is under police custody revealing vital information that will lead to the arrest of his collaborators.
The discreet investigation is in progress, all the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution upon completion of the investigation.
