Engineer Sule Restructures Own Media Department, Congratulates New CPS, NUJ Chairman

Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has announced a restructuring of his Department of Strategic Communication and Press Affairs, into two separate departments.

Engineer Sule made this known while delivering an introductory remarks at an emergency executive council meeting, which held at the Government House, on Friday.

The Governor, who said the meeting was initially convened to review the performances of various ministries, as well as revenues generated, used the opportunity to update stakeholders on recent development regarding his publicity department, which saw to the appointment of Mallam Ibrahim Addra, as Chief Press Secretary to the State Government.

Engineer Sule announced that Strategic Communication is now separated from that of Press Affairs, which will now be headed by the incoming CPS.

While commending Mallam Yakubu Lamai, Director General of Strategic Communication and Events Management, for the good work he has been doing and will continue to do, the Governor equally congratulated the newly appointed CPS.

While appreciating Addra, a seasoned broadcast journalist, for accepting the role of the CPS, Engineer Sule expressed confidence that the new CPS will engender a much vibrant communication, especially with the media.

“The state is trying everything possible to receive all the attention because of the attraction we want to continue to receive from investors that we will continue to invite to the state,” the Governor stated.

According to Engineer Sule, it is his strong belief that Addra, as the new CPS, will strengthen the media team.

The Governor equally congratulated the newly elected state officials of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) who emerged after a free, fair and transparent election on Thursday.

Engineer Sule commended the NUJ for the feat.

It will be recalled that after a keenly contested election, Comrade Salisu Alkali of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and Comrade Sunday John of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), emerged state Chairman and Secretary of the NUJ respectively.
