Etsu Nupe Commends NPF For Establishing School In Bida

Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers has commended the Nigeria Police Force for establishing a Police Boys Secondary School in Bida.

Alhaji Abubakar made the commendation when the management of the school led by its Commandant, SP Peter Daniel paid him a courtesy visit in his Wadata palace on Thursday in Bida.

He said that the establishment of the school in the ancient town of Bida had contributed to the development of kin Nupe, the state and Nigeria as a whole.

Etsu Nupe said contributing to the school was indispensable, adding that education is the best legacy that can be bequeath on the children as future leaders.

The traditional ruler pledged to sustain his support in ensuring the success of the school.

He said his doors would always remain open to the management of the school and that he would use his good office to facilitate its routine operations.

Alhaji Abubakar also called on parents and guardians to educate their children for self-development and nation building.

“I urged you to send your children to school as it is a legacy to liberate our children in the future,” he said.

The monarch also commended the commandant, staff, management and executives of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) for their dedication, commitment and sacrifice towards ensuring the success of the school.

According to him, your efforts in uplifting the standard of the school have improved the performance of the students.

Speaking earlier, the Commandant, SP Daniel said that their visit to the palace was to commend the Etsu Nupe’s tireless efforts in contributing to the success of the school.

“I wish to sincerely express my profound gratitude for your sight in education and commitment for the establishment of this school.

“Sir, since the establishment of the school there has been remarkable progress in both academic and infrastructural development through your fatherly intervention,” he said.

He noted that the school had successful graduated two sets with outstanding performance in both WAEC and NECO examinations where 95 per cent successes were achieved.

He explained also that through the effort of the Force Education Officer, CP Rabi Umar their students who met the necessary requirements were given special consideration for admission at Police Academy, Wudil in Kano state.

He said through the intervention of Etsu Nupe, the Federal Government project for the construction of 2 blocks of 4 classrooms facilitated by one of your distinguished daughter, Hajiya Aisha Ndayako has been completed successfully.

Similarly, he said that the ongoing construction of one-storey building of 8 classrooms at the school’s permanent site that was facilitated by CP Umar through the Police Trust Fund had reached 70 per cent completion.
